Mellow Night Driving Playlist

If you need some new music inspiration, you’ve headed to the right blog. I’m an adventurous mom blogger by day and a DJ by night, so I’m always listening and looking for the right mood.

This time, we’ve put together a playlist that’s inspired by late summer nights and sweet breezes. See what you think:

The Ambiance

The feeling we’re going for with this list is full of zing, but mellow energy. You’re not falling asleep, but you’re not amped up at a concert either. You’re happy to be alive and too jazzed to get in bed. So you jump in the car and go for a drive at night, probably with the windows down. Can you feel the balmy night air? Good; then you’re ready for these tunes.

The Tunes

Play them in this order, trust DJKG:

  • “Sunday Best” by Surfaces

  • “Ophelia” by The Lumineers

  • “Pills N Potions” by Nicki Minaj

  • “Always Forever” by Cults

  • “bad idea!” by girl in red

  • “You Know It” by Colony House

  • “Waterfalls” by Wldlfe

  • “Electric Love” by B𝞥RNS

  • “Hey There Delilah” by Plain White T’s

  • “Pumped Up Kicks” by Foster The People

  • “Somebody’s Gonna Love You” by The Wldlfe

  • “Riptide” by Vance Joy

  • “Marlboro Nights” by Lonely God

  • “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers

  • “I Want It All” by COIN

  • “Little Lion Man” by Mumford & Sons

  • “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry

  • “Come to Me” by Goo Goo Dolls

The Source

Even DJs need inspiration. This playlist was inspired by one I found on Pinterest, and then put into a real list on Spotify (the link for that is here). You’d be surprised how many you can find there, for the exact mood you’re looking for. I’d highly recommend searching “playlist ideas” on Pinterest and thanks to algorithms, once you start liking some, your feed will fill up automatically. I’d also highly recommend the neon cowgirl playlist on Spotify.

Music for All Occasions

Hopefully you’re ready for mellow summer nights now that you’ve heard these songs. Put them on a tiny bluetooth speaker, sit on your balcony, and watch the sun go down. Maybe even pour yourself a cocktail for the occasion.
