Our Family's Favorite Holiday Punch Recipe

Having a variety of snacks for all you guests makes any party better. But what about beverages? If you’re hosting anyone for the holidays, you can make their visit a little more festive with unusual or unique drink options. Even if you have guests who don’t drink, you can still provide them with something fizzy and celebratory. Check out our recommendations for a holiday punch recipe below!

Hosting Friends and Family

Planning a party can be a breeze, and it can be stressful. Depending on your personality, putting together a holiday fizzy drink option for guests may be the last thing on your mind. Luckily, you can use some of fellow adventurous mom Brooke’s tips for holiday dinners to simplify the food portion of your gathering. Then use our recipe below for the rest.

This recipe is one that my mom put together for my sixteenth birthday party. We had a square dance in the barn (my parents hired a caller) and it was a co-ed party because we had to have enough leads and follows to make the dancing work. It was the party of the year, as I remember it (and many of my friends agreed).

THE Holiday Punch Recipe

As you know from previous recipes I’ve posted, I’m not into making you read my entire life story before sharing the recipe. Here is the best punch for holidays or birthdays. If you’d like to jazz it up, keep reading for the garnish suggestions at the bottom of the page.

Sweet Sixteen Punch

Mom’s Red Book

1 can frozen orange pineapple juice

1 can frozen apple cranberry juice

1 liter carbonated water

Reconstitute the juices with 3 cans water and the liter of carbonated water.

Dress It Up

That recipe is the basic version of our family’s favorite punch. If you’d like to make it fancier, we recommend adding a sprig of rosemary and a slice of orange or lemon.

Use seltzer water for an extra bit of flavor. Different brands have different effects; for example, some are fizzier or have “bigger” bubbles than others. Choose a flavor and brand that goes well with the punch for the biggest impact.

You can also use fancy ice cubes and a punch bowl to make the punch stand out or add pizzazz to your event. We like our round ice cube maker for old fashioneds, but you can use it for punch, too.

The Ultimate Party

With any gathering, you have to do what makes sense for your family and your style. Hopefully our family’s favorite holiday punch recipe will help brighten up your festivities this season.
